Tom is a highly experienced business winning filmmaker working across premium unscripted and scripted factual content. He has led numerous high-end productions for many of the world's leading broadcasters and entertainment platforms including Disney, History, Netflix and Nat Geo – bringing authentic and inspiring stories to worldwide audiences. His work ranges from retrospective historical stories using archive and drama to in the moment exciting unfolding narrative.
Recent projects range from the dramatized stories of Jack The Ripper and the European Royals of the early 1900s ( JACK THE RIPPER: WRITTEN IN BLOOD (3x1hr) and ROYAL MOB (4x1hr) for Sky History.) to Showrunner of the archive-led series INSIDE THE FBI: THE 70s for DISNEY+ (6x1hr). He also directed the haunting BBC drama-doc BELSEN: OUR STORY (1x1hr), receiving multiple award nominations and five-star reviews in The Guardian, Times and Telegraph.
From 2016 to 2020, Tom was a senior member of the award-winning creative team at Atlantic Productions, playing a leading role in winning new business and originating and overseeing some of the company’s most high-profile productions – including BACK TO THE TITANIC (1x1hr) for Disney+, HISTORY OF THE EMIRATES (3x1hr) with Jeremy Irons for National Geographic, HAWAII ON FIRE (1x1hr) for PBS and THAI CAVE RESCUE (1x1hr) for PBS and Netflix.
Tom's early successes for the BBC include RESTORATION with Griff Rhys Jones, TUTANKHAMUN: THE TRUTH UNCOVERED with Dallas Campbell, MASTERS OF THE PACIFIC COAST with Dr. Jago Cooper, and GALAPAGOS with Liz Bonnin. He series directed the four-part climate change series MAN ON EARTH with Tony Robinson for Channel 4, and directed BURIED ALIVE: THE CHILEAN MINE RESCUE for Channel 4 / PBS, and HURRICANE KATRINA: THE STORM THAT DROWNED A CITY for Channel 5 / PBS.
