When does a documentary become a compelling story?

Following the advent of Edit Producers, there’s a new breed of top-end story-line senior producers who can take disparate footage and mould it into a gripping narrative. At Stern & Wild we’re seeing a lot more call for a Story Executive, Story Doctor or Story Editor than ever before. 

Film-maker Nigel Levy has taken his drama and documentary experience and built up a systematic structure for edge-of-the-seat factual programmes. Nigel walked the walk on his last production, as Story Editor for the 10-hour big-budget Netflix series Formula 1: Drive To Survive. 

Nigel is now presenting that experience as a formal course for docs and factual programme-makers through Screen Skills Ireland
