Stern & Wild welcomes three new super talented filmmakers to its ranks
Moray and Natalie are delighted to welcome three new clients to Stern & Wild’s growing list of talented factual content creators.
Director/producer Raïssa Botterman joins the agency with a decade’s experience of delivering high-profile UK and international documentaries. A Grierson nominee, Raïssa’s recent projects include Becoming Matisse (BBC Two/Brook Lapping), My Daughter’s Killer (Netflix/Rogan Productions) and Murder in the Pacific (BBC Two/Oxford Scientific). She is currently working as series director on an international true crime project for Netflix at Raw TV.
Also joining the agency is the multi award-winning director/producer Jasleen Kaur Sethi, whose film Ellie Simmonds: Finding My Secret Family (ITV1/ Flicker Productions) won this year’s best single documentary BAFTA TV Award. Jasleen’s other recent projects include The Flight Attendant Murders (Channel 4/Sundance Now/Flicker Productions) best docuseries winner at the True Crime Awards 2024 and Wayne Couzens: Killer in Plain Sight (Channel 5/Flicker Productions). Before moving into documentary, Jasleen spent six years in Africa and South Asia as a journalist and TV correspondent, working for several news outlets and publications including Reuters, the BBC, Al Jazeera, The Guardian and Vanity Fair.
Stern & Wild’s third new signing is 2022 BAFTA Breakthrough director Paul Sng whose feature documentary Tish opened the 2023 Sheffield DocFest to wide acclaim. The film, a portrait of social documentary photographer Tish Murtha who dedicated her life to recording the lives of working-class communities in North East England during the Thatcher years, in some ways reflects Paul’s own story as a voice of the disenfranchised. Paul’s other feature credits include Dispossession: The Great Social Housing Swindle and Poly Styrene: I Am a Cliché, winner of the BIFA 2021 Best Documentary and Raindance Discovery awards.
