Landmark new series on the life and legacy of Mozart premieres today
Huge congratulations to Stern & Wild filmmaker Melanie Fall, series producer of the major new documentary Mozart: Rise of a Genius which launches on BBC Two tonight.
The three-part series explores the life and work of legendary composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, charting his journey from child prodigy and high-society darling to rebellious outsider who revolutionised the world of music. Narrated by Juliet Stevenson, it combines expert commentary, dramatic re-enactments and performances of some of his key works. Contributors include Adjoa Andoh, Stephen Fry, Ed Gardner, Sheila Hancock and Richard E Grant.
The series is produced by 72 Films, the company behind last year’s Shakespeare: Rise of a Genius. It will air weekly on BBC Two, Mondays at 9.00pm from tonight and on BBC iPlayer.
