Stern & Wild filmmaker marks turn of the year with the launch of two new projects
Two new documentary productions from Jasleen Kaur Sethi have dropped on streaming services in the past few weeks.
Jasleen is Series Producer and Director of the three-part docuseries The Last Party: Death on Tresco which launched on HBO and Discovery+ on 28 December. The poignant series revisits the mystery surrounding the disappearance and death of 23-year-old bar manager Josh Clayton on one of the most popular holiday spots in the Scilly Isles in 2015. It examines what his family view as a flawed police investigation and follows his brother Ashley as he returns to the island in search of answers on the 10-year anniversary of Josh’s death. Jasleen’s second project is the gripping opening story in the sixth season of the Netflix true crime show I Am a Killer, in which prisoners in the US convicted of capital murder give firsthand accounts of their crimes. A Mother's Choice is a series-first double episode exploring the case of Candie Dominguez and Daniel Lopez, two inmates responsible for the brutal murder of Dominguez’s cousin Jose Luis Menchaca in San Antonio, Texas, in 2014. Intriguingly, in the process Jasleen and her team uncover the truth about a second unsolved killing. I Am a Killer is a Transistor Films production for Netflix.
