Fingers crossed for our talented RTS Award nominees

Best of luck to all the Stern & Wild filmmakers whose projects are in the running for an RTS Programme Award at tonight’s ceremony.

The 90-min investigative tour de force Undercover: Exposing the Far Right, directed, filmed and produced by Havana Marking, is nominated in the Single Documentary category. Described by the Guardian in October 2024 as “the bravest documentary of the year so far”, the film follows investigators from the anti-racism campaign Hope Not Hate as they go undercover to reveal the racist ideology and media-savvy tactics of the modern far right.

Another feature-length project in the running is the groundbreaking conservation documentary Silverback, which is nominated in the Science & The Natural World category. Directed, filmed and edited by Miles Blayden-Ryall, the Grierson Award-winning film follows wildlife cameraman Vianet Djenguet as he joins the effort to protect the critically endangered eastern lowland gorillas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Stern & Wild filmmakers Toby Trackman and Chris Wilson were both involved in the third project we have our fingers crossed for. Their brilliant four-part music docuseries Camden, which is nominated in the Arts category, explores how the lives and careers of some of music’s biggest stars were influenced by the London borough. Toby is Director of several of the series episodes and Chris is the Editor.

We are delighted these projects and filmmakers have been recognised by the RTS and wish them all the very best for tonight. The awards ceremony is being held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London. For a full list of nominations, click here.
