Story behind the birth and evolution of Twitter set to debut on CNN

Twitter: Breaking the Bird, a four-part docuseries charting the history of the social media platform from its creation in 2006 to its multi-billion-dollar sale in 2022, will premiere on CNN this weekend.

Three Stern & Wild clients were key members of the production team: Fred Hepburn is Showrunner, Ricardo Pollack is one of the Exec Producers and Kate Quine is Series Director.

The series follows the insider story behind the meteoric rise and eventual sale of the revolutionary app featuring the voices of the founders themselves. It is described by the producers as ‘the definitive tale of the corporate clashes, revolving door leadership and tech bro hubris hidden behind the scenes at this once-trailblazing company’.

It is produced by Candle True Stories and Bitachon365 for the BBC and CNN Original Series. In addition to Ricardo, Exec Producers are James Goldston for Candle True Stories, Sheldon Lazarus for Bitachon365, and Amy Entelis and Lyle Gamm for CNN Original Series. It was commissioned for the BBC by Jack Bootle, Head of Specialist Factual Commissioning; Tom Coveney, the BBC’s Head of Science, is Commissioning Editor.

The series airs live on Sunday, 9 March at 10pm ET/PT on CNN and CNN.com and will be available to stream the following day. The producers are currently working on a feature documentary version of the series which will premiere on the BBC later in the year.
